Alabama Southern can help you begin a challenging career in Construction Electricity

Students in Construction Electricity may choose to pursue an Associate Degree in Applied Technology or simply complete the required 26 credit hour certificate program to get right to work in field. Students who complete this program of study typically achieve employment in the following fields: construction, automobile manufacturing, industrial plants, or in institutional facilities such as schools, hospitals, hotels, and amusement parks.

Programs of study include theory classes as well as simulated hands-on projects related to real-life job experiences in the repair and modernization of equipment used in industrial plants and institutional complexes. The small class size allows instructors to work closely with students as they develop skills that allow them to complete the following on the job tasks.

Admission Requirements

  • Students must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Students must complete the Alabama Southern admissions application and submit official transcripts of all previous academic work to the office of Student Development.
  • Students must take the Asset/ Compass Placement Test for placement in English, Math, and Reading.
