Industrial Maintenance Technology

Preparing students to meet the demands of today's workplace is a challenge for colleges and for industries. Alabama Southern's Industrial Maintenance Technology option prepares workers for some of the best industrial jobs available in Southwest Alabama.

Graduates of Alabama Southern’s Industrial Maintenance Technology option are qualified for a variety of careers in equipment production and the construction industry, as well as entrepreneurial options and working as electrical or mechanical technicians.

  • The Industrial Maintenance Technology Program prepares students for careers in large manufacturing companies as industrial machinery and maintenance technicians. Industrial maintenance technicians keep plant machinery and equipment up-and-running so that production can continue.

  • Students may choose to pursue a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree or a two-semester certificate.

  • Programs of study include theory classes as well as hands-on projects related to real-life job experiences in the repair and modernization of equipment used in industrial settings.

  • Small class sizes allow instructors to work closely with students as they develop skills that allow them to complete crucial on-the-job tasks.
